There was a gasp, followed by silence, as Jacque’s Mom stood in the doorway of the getting ready room at Erickson Farmstead in Isanti, Minnesota. On this gorgeous September day, a tear slid down her cheek, as she walked into the getting ready room and saw her daughter wearing the dress she wore when she got married. This moment captured Jacque’s heart perfectly. She has such a beautiful relationship with her parents, including choosing their venue, having her mom join in on the robe photos with her bridesmaids, doing a first look with her Dad, and asking her Mom to join her on the dance floor halfway through the father/daughter dance.
Jacque and Taylor poured into all that came to celebrate their wedding day. There was so much joy and laughter and you could feel the closeness they shared with all their friends and family. It was truly a joy to be around them all and witness such a beautiful celebration.
Let’s back up over seven years prior though, to how Taylor and Jacque met. Jacque was convinced she wasn’t going to date anyone in high school, but when she met Taylor and was assigned a project with him in Public Speaking class, she couldn’t ignore the feelings she had for him. When Taylor asked to get coffee with Jacque, she knew that her original plans needed to change.
Taylor is the kind of guy that is up for trying just about anything new. Jacque just so happened to be the same way. Their shared love for trying new foods or hobbies, traveling, hiking, backpacking, and spending as much time outdoors as they could, made for creating so many special shared memories together. As they approached their six year anniversary, Taylor knew it was time to ask Jacque to marry him.
Their anniversary landed on a cold February day. Jacque had been wanting to capture some photos on her camera, after diving into the new hobby of photography. Taylor, seeing the opportunity, suggested they go hiking to Devil’s Lake in Baraboo, Wisconsin to capture some sunrise photos. When they got there, Jacque’s camera started having some technical issues. Taylor seized the moment and not only fixed the camera, but set it up to start recording. He quickly got Jacque in frame, then left it to hug her. Taylor proceed down to one knee to pop the question. Success.
Fast forward to their wedding day again. The thoughtfulness they put into all the details of their wedding day, was just another one of the many things that stood out to us as we photographed their love story. Jacque made all her own floral arrangements and to say they were gorgeous is an understatement. The amazing appetizers, meal, snacks, and late night pizza was another thoughtful touch. Below you can get a small glimpse of how amazing their wedding day truly was. It was so hard to narrow down on what moments to share. We hope you enjoy!
Jacque and Taylor, we are blown away by your kind hearts. You treated us like your family on your wedding day. You two are some of the most caring and genuine people and we are beyond thrilled for your new life as husband and wife. Never stop adventuring together. Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Scowcroft.
