Snow came the morning before Sarah and Andrew’s outdoor lake wedding at Appeldoorn’s Sunset Bay Resort in Isle, Minnesota. So many unknowns and questions leading up to the big day, yet Sarah and Andrew didn’t seemed phased by it. Maybe it’s because the cold isn’t something they run from, instead they jump right into it…let me explain:
The first time Sarah took Andrew to Grand Marais with her family for their annual trip, they walked out to the white light house off of the Lake Superior shore. Andrew fell in love with the small town, the way Sarah did when she was a kid, and he decided it was the perfect spot to propose to her.
The day of the proposal came and Andrew said he felt like he was walking on clouds. He led Sarah and her family out to the lighthouse. Once he reached the platform, he got down on one knee and proposed. Sarah eagerly said, “Yes!” and then, like traditions have it, they jumped into the freezing cold lake. This is now a tradition of theirs. Talk about people that can handle the cold like champs!
Handling the cold like champs is exactly what they did on their wedding day. Sarah and Andrew jumped right into celebrating their day! It was a wedding full of fun, laughter, and energy! What a great wedding party they had! So many fun moments throughout the day, ending with a choreographed dance that was AMAZING. I’m looking forward to sharing the video of that dance, but for now, enjoy some of the photos of their wonderful day.
